On last t riday, we understand a hail storm passed
through Appomattox roiinly, near the centre, and des

ihe scene says the hail stones were as large as a man’s

ined, and at the same time distrnying an innumerable
t] lHriittv of window glass—the wind blew so hard as
to destroy many trees. The storm was narrow, not be
ing inure than three or lour milts wide, extending from
a mile ibis side ol the court house to two or three the
oilier side, w ilh some smaller hail for several miles._
Me have mil been able to ascertain the length of the
storm. Me have also heard of several other hail
storms, but the stones were tuu small tu do much dam
age.
