Oh Monday morning, the Report of the ColporUce
Committee was read by Mr. Geo. J. Sumner. Sever,
Colporteurs, some ol them students, have labored during
Ihe ah.de or part of the past year with pleasing results!
Animated addresses were delivered by several gentlemen
on the usefulness ol guod books and tract*, and several
deeply interesting laets given in illustration.
Rev. Mr. Clop too introduced a resolution to the effect
that the member* ot ihe An*o<'iation would procure the
conl’ihutioii of at least one dollar, on an average, for eve
ry white member, to the benevolent societies ol the de
nomination. The resolution was voted down on the
ground of expediency ; but the discuAaion developed a
strong feeling in favor of increased contributions—partic
ularly in view of the fact that the average to each white
■tale member now tal i far short ol one dollar a year.
