more general way, and the word Cephalic will become a a
common as Eloetrotrpe and many others whose distinc
tion aa foreign words has been worn away by common

makes known any deviation whatever from the natural
state of tire bruin, and viewed in this light it may he look

Headaches ntny he classified under two names, vi/.:—
Symptomatic and Idiopathic. Symptomatic Headache ia
exceedingly common and is the preeursor of a great va
riety of diseases, among which are Apoplexy, Gout,
Hh utnatism, and all febrile diseases. In its nervous form
it is sympathetic of disease of the stomach, constituting
»tck headache, of hepatic disease, constituting biliou*
h adacht, of worms, constipation and other disorders of
the bowels, as well as renal aud uterine affections. Dis
eases of the heart are very frequently attend'd with
Headaches; Anrnmia and plethoria arc also affections
which frequently occasion headache. Idiopathic Head
ache is ulso very common, being usually distinguished by
the rarne of nervnu* hvadache, sometimes coming on sud
denly in a state of apparently souud health and prostrat
ing at once the mental and physical energies, and iu oth
er instances it comes on slowly, heralded by deprets'on of
spirits or acerbity of temper. Iu most instances the pain
is in the front of the head, over oue or both eyes, and
sometimes provoking vomiting; under this cliss may al
so be named Xeurali/ia.
For the treatment of either class of Headache the Ceph
alic Pills have been found a sure aud safe remedy, re
lieving the most acute pains in a few minutes, and t>y its
subtle power eradicating the diseases of whioh Headache
ia the unerring index:

pation, but take on an independent existence unless the
cause is eradicated in an early stage. From all these
considerations it follows that the disorder should receive
immediate attention whenever it occurs, and no person
