To the Editor*.—The Embargo L?w was pass, ed late in December, when the small craft were laid up for the winter, and when the ugricultu. rat products were of course arrested in their progress to ma ket. The bill imposed the embargo till the first day o* of January, 1815, and tbreed Great Britain to provide from Europe the supplies for her fleets and arm ea in America, us she expected its continuance. This inconvenience she has no doubt been su'jected to, unless in such sup. «v plies as may hate been treasonably furnisher1 her. These the raising of the embargo wiil no alter ; no supplies can now be sent her by Ante, ricatts but treasonably. The restrictive system has been charged on the administration as an evidence of hostility in them to commerce, by which the East has been long divorced from the Administration. A removal of the cau*e of the disaffection of the East, will re-unite the East with the South, and I hope soon to see the bear of the East and the wolf of the South lie down with the lamb of the Centre j and that, as a house divided against itself cannot stand, by thismra sure the Union will he again restored, ar.d pre sent an undivided and impregnable from, that all will rally round the standard of our common country j that standard which was erected by the Fathers of the ({evolution, and consecrated by the blond o' tlicir sons, and thus, by our united anil in vine ble legions put a period to a war Which disunion alone could protract, and disap point some ambitious Cxsar in a civil war. SIR ALFRED is now 8 years old, full 5 feet 1 inch high, very handsome 8c powerfully made, of a beautiful dark bay colour, with black legs, mane and tail, in high health and vigor; has. covered only one season, (and that at the samo stand) and is as likely to get good racert and elegant saddle horses as any horse in this coun« try.—His blood is inferior to none in the world.
