Prize Fight.—A despatch from Phcnixville, Pa., Dec. 1, says: •The prize fight between Bradley, of Moyainen tin®, and Sloan, alias Sluggin, of Baltimore, came otl toiay at 2, P. M.. in Montgomery. After 11 rounds, lasting not 17 minutes, Sloan was declared vanqui-hed, being unable to come to time. Sloan was badly hurt. A posse of officers went from this city, but all except one missed the right spot, and he was powerless." The Cholera at New Orleans .—The rrpor that tbe< holera had made its appearance at New (Means is confirmed. The Hoard of Health held a meeting on the '23d ult., at which it was announc ed that cases of the disease hail been reported in different sections of the city. A despatch from that city dated Nov. 29, says: ■ The Hoard ol Health reports 201 deaths during last week, including 129 from cholera, the latter mostly emigrants. Edward J. Carroll, formerly editor of the Crescent, died yesterday. The wea ther is rainy and sultry." The weather has been unusually warm for the season in that city during the past month. The New Orleans papers of the 23ih u!t., (not to late x the dispatch giver above.) all no'ice the rumors of the existence of cholera in that city, but add that they are greatly exaggerated. Theyaay the general health of the city is good, and the wea ther becoming much cooler. Chauncey Johnson, the Hank robber, turns cut to bfe an old offender, well known to the Albany po lice as Van Liew. He wrs arrested there some years ago, on the charge of stealing a watch, but broke jail and escaped. Subsequently he was con victed of some crime in Philadelphia and sent to the penitentiary for a year or more. He is repre sented as being a person of good address, intelli gent, and a beautiiul penman. Capt. Rynders, it said, claimed apart of the reward paid to officer Keefe, on the ground that he had iuformod the lat ter that Johnson was constancy betting at the (Jem, (where he was arrested) and staking nothing but bills on tiie bank of the State ol New Voi k. Yankee Sullivan, whose arrest we noticed yester day, is in the hands of the sheriff of Westchester county, N. V., who claims to take him as a prisoner lor violating his parole of honor, not to or en gage in a tight again, given to the governor of the •■State, who therefore pardoned Yankee, and re leased him from the State prison a fewyears since, where he war, under sentence for the affair of Lilly atid McCoy. I.—lt Is rumored that Mr. Gideon, proprietor of the late Republic newspaper, lias filed a bill in Chancery against General Arm strong, proprietor of the Union. claiming the halt ol the prcti g of the public printing, on the basis ol an alleged agreement entered into last Congress between the whig and demociatic parties respec tively, and in consequence of which agreement, .Mr. Gideon contends, the public priotiug was given the Union office.
