IN THE Bbit ish Parliament.—We were some time since informed that a combined effort was to be made by the British and American abolition ists against the existing institution of slavery in our Southern Sjgttes. Several of J_hi Brown's principal tools were Englishmen; he is said to have Bent agents to England, and to have received money from there; and tbe fu gitive revolutionary abolitionists from here are now endeavoring to stir np the sympathies tnd bleed tbe pockets of their British cousins. At a recent meeting in Wakefield, England, which was addressed by tbe mulatto Fred. Douglass nnd Miss Remond, the former an nounced that the British people "were to have a very important subject brought before them for consideration, and that was tbe propriety of forming an anti-slavery society, which should assist in the work of the abolition ot slavery in the United States." As a part of this movement, no doubt, I*ord Brougham, who is one of the old original abolition lead ers, moved, on the .7th. In the British House of Lords, that the government should lay be fore the House information in regard to sla very, and the amount of cotton imported from the United States. Lord Normandy promised, ou tbe part of the government, that what in formation it possessed should be forthcoming at an early day.—if. Y. Herald.
