lie said that the Senate had declared solemnly
by a lull th.it the ollhe of Second Auditor
should he abolished. There i- now no neces
sity for th? office, and retrenchment tn the

Mr Ivffx said that the impression had gone
abroad thai by doing away with the oifice of
Second Auditor tint an expenditure of H\e
thousand dollars per annum would he saved

A member moved to amend the thirty-third
section, wherin he contended there was some
had grammar. Not, he said, that the matter
was so \ery important, further than he did
not think it consistent v. ith tin* dignity of the
House that such a mistake should go forth
with it* imprim-oter. [Strong emphasis on
prim.] Thi* mistake was in using the words
?*to In'ilainK" in two cases, in that section,
inste ul ol 'to he drtiiik.' [11 says

Mr. (Ik att.an thought it only a case of mis
spelling, that could be altered : but the mover
insisisted on correcting it at once.
Tlte House seemed to be .a little amused, and
