Charles Wadlelgh, an old timer in this section, Is back from an extended stay in Minas Prietas, Mexico. Tho weather has moderate within the last few days, the cold snap passing away, leaving delightful sunshine. Hanvey and Cooloy, singing come dians, with Hi Henry's Minstrels, pos sess snperb cultivated musical voices. Assistant Superintendent French, of the Copper Queen, accompanied by Mrs. French, went to Benson yester day Pearl Chapter, No. 6, Order of the Eastern Star will hold an installation Friday evening at Masonic Temple 8.30 p.m. Tho Ampbion Vocal Glee club and the Columbia quartet, ten cultivated singers, with HI Henry's Big Progres sive Minstrels. Judge Barnes, of Tucson, and Dr. Ford, of Phoenix, have gone to So nora to visit tbeir mines in the Sierra Madre mountains. Next Sunday evening, December 22, at 8 o'clock, Mr. Studley will again preach in the opera house hall. All are cordially invited. H. E. Buckingham, representing Fairbanks, Mors Sc Co., of Los Angel es, Cat , is iu Bisbee on business con nected with his company. The work on the gymnasium will be resumed today. The trouble between Architect Perkins and the contractors, Wells & Boners having been adjusted. J. A. Thocker,the well known Wells Fargo detective, says he has recently investigated the raport o! killing of Burt Alvord and found that there was nothing to it. A meeting of the" Spanish-American veterans will be held Sunday evening at the fire house at 3 o'clock. All who were enlisted in the late war and re ceived an honorable discbarge are el igible for membership. Owing to the late arrival of the spe cial train bringing up Hi Henry's min strel troupe the company will not be able to give their grand Btreet parade this evening, but will give a concert in front of the library immediately af ter the arrival of the train, which is expected to reach Bisbee about seven o'clock. Mr. Y. R-Stiles, of the A.&S.E. Ry., says it is claimed by the Southern Pa cific officials in Tucson that two hun dred people from that town will come to Naco on the excursion to witness the bull fights which will come off Christ mas day. It is about time Tucson sent a good crowd to this section of Ari zona, considering the large excursions that went from Bisbee and Naco last snmmer to Tucson. George Dunn went borne Tuesday evening and found his two pet coons at large, tbey having escaped from their pen. Mr. Dunn prizes his coons very highly, as they were presented to him by Colonel Kosterlttzky. When he caught one of the coons it bTt him on the thumb of one hand and the first finger of the other. Dr. Sweetdressed the wounds yesterday morning and no serious results are anticipated. A GrarfgSiccess. The grand bazaar, gixen by St. John's Guild, closed last night after three nights of successful entertainment and the sale of many articles of usefulness. The program last night was prououncea the best of the three and the attend ance was larger. The ladles in charge of the work have left nothing nndone, and their ef forts have been successful and they have added a neat sum towards the fund for building the church. The patronage from the people of Bisbee was greater at this bazaar than any ever before given by the Guild and the ladies are greatly encouraged in their work. A complete set of the plans of their church were posted in a convenient place and Mr. Blancbford and Dr. Sweet were kept busy telling about the loca tion, seating capacity and time required to build their church, etc A noticable feature of the bazaar was the Urge at tendance of the young men of Bisbee, which clearly goes to show that the young men are'very much interested -and they have assured the ladies they can be relied upon to help them in their noble work. i!!S!iiSile!ii3i Hi Henry's Mlastrels. Elks Will Entertain The local lodge' of Elks will enter tain their visiting brothers and friends with a smoker and social session at the opera house on Fiiday evening. Hi Henry has l.een a memberof this order for a number of years, and it is custom' ary for the Elks to entertain their brethren in the different cities, and Bisbee lodge will give the eastern brothers a genuine western welcome. A large number of the Hi Henry com pany are Elks and are well known to members of the local lodge. The Bis bee Elks will attend the initial per-' formance of the minstrels tonight in a body.
