Tho drawing tor the grand and trial juries was bad yestorday in the district clerk's of fice. Twenty-one names were drawn lor the grand Jury to report on the 17th. The names were placed in the hands or tho Sheriff immediately, and that officer now has a force of depu ties out hunting for tho citizens who will serve the county at this session of tho district court. The U. S. Juries have all been summoned, but the lists have not as yet been turned into the clerk's office. The county jail at the present time contains tho largest number of prison ers that has ever been conflncd in that blaco since tho jail was built in 1S81, there being now 50 prisoners. jdost of them are grand jury prisoners, while a few aro term men, and two or threo aro U. S. prisoners. II. L. Taylor of Douglas has brought uit in the district court against the E. P. & S. W railroad company for damages in the sum of $1,000 for al leged non-delivery of a consignment of freight which the company refused to deliver on account of his not prc tlng tho bill of lading. ho work on the court house annex 'lag rushed to completion. The Jury rooms will be in readiness. Dr. W. C. Bedford has returned from Guaymas, where he has been for a number of weeks on a visit. He re turns feeling much better in health. Miss Arizona Miauu has returned from an extended visit to relatives in San Jose, California. o A Pioneer Lady. Mrs. Bessio J. Blom, one of the pio neer residents of Cochise county, ana a large owner of real estate in Bls- bee and of mines in the Warren dis trict, but who is now a resident of Los Angeles, where she has a beautiful home, arrived in this city yesterday to look after her interests here. THE BERT WARNER MEDAL The Bert Warner Gold Medal Fund received the additional sub scription yesterday of one dollar. It is desired to bring tho sub scription to a close as rapidly as possible.
