Mr. Editor: — Sir: According to your request, Ido here by present you with a synopsis of my life. 1 was born in the city of Richmond. Va.. August 3rd., 1827. on Clay street i between 4th and sth streets. 1 lived | then* until 1 was about 8 years old, then 1 was taken away from my mother and went to Manchester (which was 'hen a town but now a city) to live with a free man 1y:l e year for victuals and clothes. 1 lived w th him three yea s, after which 1 wa- brought back again to Richmond, and was hired out to Mr. David Bridget for $5O a year; 1 stopped wi h h m two years, then I was sold, and Mr. John R. Kerr bought me, and I lived with him up to the Evacuation. The Acme Literary Association met last Tue'day night at the Leigh St. C. M. E. Church. John Mitchell J r. presided. A declamation was delivered by Mi. Daniel J. Farrar Prof D. N. A rumor was around last week that Lawyer Walter J. Scott the latent ac cession to our colored professional men had been disbarred.
