The Baptist State Convention of Vir ginia at its annual session in Lexington Va., May twelfth eighteen eighty-six. adopted the following plan for raising money to carry on the Foreign Mission work; RICHMOND, VIRGINIA SATURDAY, JUNE 12, 1886. First, that each church in the State be requested to give quarterly collections for Foreign Mission, that each member of the church be requested to give as least five cents at these quarterly meet Ings and the church to see that the mon ey be sent at once to the Secretary of the Board, he sending them a receipt for the same. By this method, sufficient money can be raised to carry on the For elgn Mission work without being burden tome to any. It Is hoped that every tor in the State will at once put this ma t ter before their churches and get their cooperation in carrying it into effect at the old plan of giving one or two collec lions a year holding them until the con vention, have failed to produce the de sired end. Rev J. A.
