ARCH-FOE OF DIVORCE GETS
PULPIT IN MOVIELAND

The Rev. (.ieorge Dorn in a characteristic pulpit pose.
THE arch foe of divorce has
gone to Hollywood to preach
in the very front yard of tlie
imovie colony, where divorces are
as common as flivvers.
1 And what's more, his new con
gregation is enthusiastic about i
joining.
He is the Rev. George Dorn
until recently associate pastor of;
'Kountze Memorial Lutheran
church. Omaha. Neb., largest i
^Lutheran church in America. His!
new charge is Hollywood Luther
'an church, which is Just one block
from Hollywood boulevard, where

* A Wide Reputation
Rev. Dorn has a reputation in
‘Lutheran circles throughout
iAmerica tor the fight he has con
ducted on divorce. He is chair
in; an of the Lutheran church's sub
• Committee on divorce, and is in
line for the chairmanship of its
committee on social and moral
^welfare. He is also the author of
' ithe “Dorn Divorce Code. ' which
the Lutheran church is expected
' i*o adopt at its uext general con
ference
This code would outlaw all
t -rounds for divorce except infi

fighter He pressed his campaign*
for adoption of his code at the
last Lutheran general conference;
lost it. for the time being, and
then renewed his fight with such
vigor that it is now anticipated
that he will win at the next con
ference
When he received the invitation
to become pastor of the Hollywootf
church he first investigated condi
tions there He learned that a'
number of movie stars are mem
bers of the church and that chil
dren of several more are in the
Sunday school
So ne promptly wrote out a
complete statement of his views
on marriage gild divorce and sent
them to • he church officials
Those views are unalterable."
