where Abraham Lincoln visited often
as the guest of Colonel Robert
Latham, whose son. William, owns the
mansion today and presides, with nis
wife, over the tables where casual
; tourists are welcome to sit and hear
countless unprinted stories of the
Emancipator. The great historic
mansion is a treasure house of relics
pertaining to the martyred president
who christened the townslte by break

In the house is a massive rose
wood bed in which both Lincoln and
Grant slept. On one wall hangs the

name wr.v. n in by Lincoln after he
' had consented to christen it.

If your paper Is very light, be sure
to thin your glue with water, and
spread It on with a brush. Use the
best quality of liquid glue you car.

ordinary brown wrapping paper, a
wire lampshade frame, and a plcturn
cut out of a magazine.

paper and cut out the pattern from
the lmpre.-slon. allowing one Inch fer
lapping over. Cut the shade from
stiff brown wrapping paper. A beau
tiful glossy parchment effect can be
obtained by spreading over the shade
a diluted coating of glue and a coat
ing of shellac. Cut allow tli? g'.ue
to dry thoroughly before applying the
shellac. Lepage a fancy print in.
