THE PEOPLE’S PRESBY TERIAN CHURCH 23rd Ave. and Washington Sermon Topic*: Sunday, March 23. 6 a. m. “Easter Carols and the Communion.” 11 a. m. “Hope! Hope! Hope! For Everybqdy.” 3:00 p. m. "Special Musical Program.” PEOPLE’S PRESBYTERIAN CON CERT HUGE SUCCESS. Last Thursday and Friday nights, the old folks of the above-named church pulled off one of the most suc cessful concerts of its kind ever wit nessed in this city. The managers, Alesdames Lily Reeves and Mary Clinkscale had a plan well laid. Near ly the entire membership was plated in the harness, the pastor of' the church not excluded. The public was made to interest themselves to no lit tle extent. Every piece on the pro gram was well rendered. The scholars of the “Deestrick Skule,” under the tutorship of Rev. Thos.-Hazell, pro voked incessant roars of laughter during the night’s entertainment. The attendance on both nights was ab normal and especially Friday night, which was very windy and cold. The carnival was not a whit behind. The chapel, being well decorated, drew the crowd to buy the marketable commodities as well as to partake of the splendid refreshments. The only expenses were one dollar for tickets, all the “stuff" being donated by mem bers and friends. Quite a few white friends were among the audience. The entertainment netted nearly j $110. The managers, the lady who) trained the old folks, the old folks | themselves, the undivided member ship and the sympathizing friends who contributed to make the concert and carnival such a success must be | complimented for their effort. The people's church is indeed maintaining her reputation for clean and success ful exhibitions. EASTER AT THE PEOPLE’S PRES BYTERIAN TOMORROW. For the past three or four years the People’s Presbyterian choir has ; been entertaining the public .with a class of music that is not to be ex celled by any church of color in Deri- ' ver. The Easter program promises to eclipse any of its great renditions. During the illness of the organist, Mrs. Westbrook, wlib is now at her post again. Rev. Thos.-Hazell had direct supervision of the choir with Mrs. Nellie Marchbanks at the org-u. Three services will be observed o morrow —6 a. m., II a. m. and 3 ]\*nl. At all of these services the musi will form a lively factor. The public Is cordially invited to witness th- pro gram. the music of which iselse here published in this issue. The loir, with Mrs. Vera Finney, have tste fully decorated the choir stalls hile the decorations of the pulpit and church proper have been left the deaconness’ board.
