A St Louis gentleman whose affliction was sick headaches was so surprised at the cure effected by Joy's Vegetable Sarsaparilla, that he called It to the attention of a relative, who hap pened to be none other than Dr. F. A. Barrett, the well-known St Louis physician of 2652 Shen andoah Street The doctor saw at once that It differed from the potash preparations ln that it was purely vegetable, and becoming interested in it, began a series of Investigations, and in • subsequent letter candidly admitted its curative properties, and says: — Wishing to test its virtues further, I used it in my own family, and prescribed it for patients who required a general system regulator. As a result, lean say it is ah almost absolute cure for constipation, biliousness, dyspepsia, indiges tion, and sick headaches. These troubles usu ally come from a disturbed condition of the stomach and bowols, aud Joy's Vegetable Sarsa- Sarilla is the best laxative and stomach regula >t I have ever seen, and as a general system corrective is almost perfection Itself. Montgomery Mather sat in a chair in the lobby of the Hollenbeck hotel last evening at 7 o'clock. Mr. Mather was tired; very tired; he had been circulating a great deal; as editor of Life his circulation must not be im paired, so he had been in, and out, and around the corner, from early morn. As he sat in the chair he fell asleep. Now hotel proprietors object to men sleeping in chairs in the office. There are rooms up stairs for such purpose. Be sides it does not look well to go to sleep in a chair, particularly at 7 o'clock, in a hotel office. So the porter was requested by the proprietors to get Mr. Mather to move. He did so. Mr. Mather was very full of Life, and objected ; the porter insisted, and the result was biff! bang! wow ! and both men found themselves the center of a crowd on the sidewalk. Mr. Mather let his flow of critical lan guage loose, and begged his friends who grasped him to let him do the porter up. The porter stood firm and invited "all of you fellers to come on." They all de clined to come on, but came off, r. c, leaving the porter f. c. in a triumphant tableau, while the curtain fell under the glare of the electric light, and the band, or if there had been any band, would I have played McGinty. Warm weather often causes extreme tired feeling and debility, and in the weakened con dition of the system, diseases arising from im pure blood sre liable to appear. To gain strength, to overcome disease, and to purify, vitalize, and enrich the blood, take Hood's Sa saparilla. AMUSEMENTS. GRAND OPERA HOUSE, McLain m Lehman, Managers.
