JOHN SHIRLEY WARD Nominated Last Night for Mayor by the Reformers. The reformers held a mass meeting at Illinois hall last evening, and had a monkey and parrot time. Itro»«lwny, Los Angeles. Cal., By his Aerean-system of practice, which con sists of proper Medicated Inhalations ami COM POUND OXYGEN TREATMENT. Probably no system of practice over employed has been so universally successful as the Aerean system of practice* as introduced by Dr. Williams for the cure of Catarrh, Throat Dis eases, Asthma and Consumption. CATARRH. Catarrh is ofMtl regarded by the patient as a cold in the head, and he often expresses his astonishment at hd» remarkable tendency to contract fresh cold. Indeed he declares that he is scarcely free from oue cold before he takes another, and he is always exceedingly careful; it is also a matter of surprise to him that tho cold always seyms to settle in the head and throat. At times many of the symptoms of catarrh seem to abate, and' the patient is led to hope that the disease is ab*>uc to wear off; but an other class of symptoms soon appear and he learns to his horror, that instead of recovery from the disease, it is somewhat changed in its character and has extended to the throat. A sense of weariness is sometimes felt in reading, speaking or singiug: hoarseness at times occurs, a sensation of dryness is felt in the throat, or it u;>pears that 'some foreign substance, as, for instance, a hair, obstructed the throat; there becoraes a <*ense of languor and fatfgue; the breath lessens on a little exertion, a short, hacking cough, a peculiar sound in clearing the throat, a feeling as though there was -lot room enough in thtf chest to breathe; t.iese and other symptoms occur after the disease 2w«s made considerable progress. Then It is a time when consumption is about to begin ita dreadful work. Up to this time the Jr"'»»es» of the disease may have been slow ar-.di the patient may, in expressing his confident hope that it will "wear off," declare thm: he has had the catarrh for years and has not seemed to become much worse, and trusts that he will "by and by" recover. But this dsritosion is the grand error which has peopled our cemeteries with con sum utive forms, as all forms of catarrh end finally In consumption. Consultation and one application at tho office FREE. Those who desire t» consult me in regard to their cases had better call at the office for an examination, but if 'wposoible to visit the office personally, can w rite ior list of questions and circular, both of .vhieh will be sent free of charge.
