Joseph Lancafter of London.
It is my opinion that Mr. E. Boall 19,
in consequence of his assiduity during his
flay in this town, well acquainted with
the princi -,les upon which schools ot the
above description are managed and con
ducted. Furthermore, it is my opinion
that he is .-naffer of the Lancaiterian ge
nuine syftem of national education.

Scott, aware of the disadvantages a Gran
ger muft necessarily labour under, who
has no particular-friends, no powerful con
nections to push him into public notice;
who has to contend with the prejudices
of the people, and the inrereits of gentle
men of hie own profession. &c. tnltes
this method of informing the people, that
merit alone is thfc ground wirk on which
he builds his expectations, end that it is
not pecuniary, so much ax pleafurable mo
tives,which have induced him to offer them
his services. And to the gentlemen of
his own profession, Dr. Scott would very
mudeilly obfetvc, that if they entertain
any doubts of hix medical information, he
would he glad to fee them at his lodging,
where he will give them a fair opportuni
ty of inveftigating the grounds of inch
dubiety, and indeed he has no hesitation
in fubmitting to an examination before
* any number ot qualified gentlemen.
