The big game of the season today, when the Treasurers and Auditors hook up. A win for either team means much, and players on both teams are on edge for the battle. Munch will twirl for the last year's champs, with Tolford behind the bat. Captain Herring will send Young to the mound, and Jones will don the pad and mask. If both pitchers display their usual form, a good battle can be ex pected. Since the acquisition of Thompson by the Lawyers, the pennant outlook as sumes another phase. The Auditors are scheduled for two games with the re Jucnated Law team, and the leaders will have to display their besti ball to win. Today will decide If Southland is really on the toboggan slump. Wood land slumped a few weeks ago, but. judging from the manner in which it bested Immanuel last week, It has re covered its stride. It Is probable that the old war horse, "Chunk" AVheatly will burn them over for Southland. Wheatly has been out of tho game for several years, but the Southland boys all maintain that he is as good as ever. Munch will oppose him for Woodland, with Bischoff or Hnrr behind the bat. while De Chard will bickstop Wheatly. 9 The Olympia League has accomplished three things this year that no other league has approached. White Haven made twenty-seven assists in a nine-inning game on May 27. A game was played in one hour and twenty minlites, and Riddle, of Woodland, made six hits in six times at bat: 'all records that will stand for some time. In addition to that the league has one of the best pennant races In the city. The tail-end team having lost but two more games tl'an the leaders, and all team percent ages are bordering around the .500 mark. Lester Maus. Bankers' League, j STANDING-. Clubs. W.L.Pct.1 Clubs. Although confined in the hospital tor some time, his injury does not seem to have deterred his playing a bit. The in jury was caused by being hit on the head by a pitched ball. Two banner games will be played this week, deciding the occupants of first and second positions for the time being, at least. Willard and Walford .meet on Tuesday and Walford and Andrews on Friday. The Andrews adherents are certain that their favorites will win out de spite the fact that Walford now has a commanding lead. Manhattan could not claim that game on a forfeit, because It did not nave nine eligible players on the field, Oakley having been suspended on June 16 for urangiing with the umpire, and his suspension had not been lifted. Probably more depends on the games of this week than any other games that have been played so far. The leading team plays three games in four days, and if it can win them all it will prac tically be the winner. On the other hand, a defeat would make it very close, as Car Department has only four scheduled games after next week, while the Southern team will have six. On their merits it would seem that the Car Department should have an easy time with the B. and Ol team today. The reputed weaker teams are some times the ones to vpset tho dope.
