Business vs. St. Albans; Eastern vs. Army-Navy Preps. By BRYAN MOUSE. Basketball activities at the Ar cade in the Interscholastic League will be suspended for more than a week following tomorrow's double bill between Business and St. Albans and Army and Navy Preps and Eastern. On February 8. Western and Business and Eastern and St. Albans are slated to open up the second half of the series. Ths week's layoff is necessitated by the food exhibit which will take place in the auditorium for the week of January 31. Officers of the circuit got togeth er during the Western-Central game yesterday, decided to adopt the re vised schedule and asked Dr. Wil liam B. Hudson to retain his office of president. As Dr. Hudson sever ed his connection with the Business High School as physical director and coach of the Business team his resignation as head of the circuit followed In view of the fact thatthe league ' was started 'six years ago and kept going by the Business men. members of the circuit would hot let Dr. Hudson resign. Dr. Hudson's successor as coach of the Business team has yet to be named. It is expected that Paul White will take over the basket ball team. Western had no difficulty In per suading Central that It had the better team in yesterday's league battle. The Westerners were crippled in that Les ter Peine has been sick for three days. The offensive strength was weakened considerably, and although Central's de fehsp was calculated to stop Western, the Red and White players frequently broke through on speedy individual rushes that baffled the Central play ers. At no time during th contest was Central In the lead. But four f'oor goals were shot bv Central, and two of these were of the pot shot variety, so closely did Sergeant and Welchel tend to the Central forwards. Dezen dorf and Marbury. Peck outplayed both Itoss White and T. Dezondorf. shooting six baskets during the game and lead ing both teams. Western was sent In for defense tho first half, and held Central to five points, amassing thirteen. The O Rtreeters were hurried so in shooting that the ball went wide of the basket on many occasions. "Cotton" Clssell nlayed a great guard ing game against Peine and was nearly forced from the contest on account of personal fouls In his eagerness to hang on. K Smith, of Central, stopped "Red" Smith, of Western, for thre baskets, hut the Westerner did the bulk of tho floor work with Peck In his effective style. Western will he forced to lay off for svpral dtys on account of poor eon rtltlon. Severs.1 of the players have hen out o' fho.llrip-up for n week with grin and went i"to yesterday's game feeling none, too fit.
