In a letter to the clerk of the Mas sachusetts serftte Secretary Daniels today denied that the Navy Depart ment will discontinue any work at the Boston Navy Yard or any other naval establishment for which appro priations are available. "There has been no Intention on the part of the department to dis- I continue any wt.k at the Boston yard | or any other naval establishment," Secretary Daniels said. "Indeed. It Is the department's purpose to con tinue all work for which Congress makes appropriation." The Secretary pointed out. how ever, that Congress had failed to pro vide sufficient funds to carry out the proposed works, and that unless such money is appropriated "It will be necessary to .still further decrease the number of employes at all yards."
