Mexico’s “Lindy” Plans Flight to Washington SAN DIEGO. Cal, April 20. Capt. Emilio Carranw, the “Lind bergh of Mexico," was here today inspecting the ariplane in which he plgns to fly without a stop from Mexico City to Washington. The plane is under construction at-the local plant which built the Spirit of St. Louis. Carranza expects to fly the plane to the Mexican Capital two weeks hence, and take off tor the non stop flight to the American Capi tal on May 16. The’ flight has been demanded by the people of Mexico as a good win gesture in reciprocation for Lindbergh's visit. 1,500 Cars of Tomatoes Shipped From Florida MIAMI. Fla.. April 20. The winter tomato crop is being bar vested here now. More than 1,500 car loads of tomatoes have been shipped North In the last few weeks while ships °f two coastal lines have been carrying the produce into Philadelphia, Baltimore and New York. . Charles Kingsford-Smith, Australian war ace, and Lieut. George R. Pond, United States naval reserve aviator, will take off from here In the near future in an attempt to circumnavi gate the globe in 24 days or lean, ac cording to an announcement issued by the two fliers. The flying pair have beenX associ ated in aerial projects for some time. In recent months they made several attempts to shatter .he then existing world’s mark for endurance flying over various northern California air fields. Once they came within an hour and a half of lowering the old rec ord. then held by the German air men, Johan and Rlsticz. Their endurance attmepts were all made in the huge trl-motored Fokker monoplane. Southern Cross, which was used by Capt. George H. Wil kins in his aerial expedition over the North Pole in 1926.
