Shrinkage In Paint Industry Found Low After having suffered less shrinkage from depression than many other lines the paint and varnish industry may be expected to feel the early impetus of any general revival because its prod ucts are used in both production and maintenance, says the Union Trust Company of Cleveland, in a current survey. The industry has been sub stained through the depression years, it is pointed out, by a domestic demand for its products tracing directly tc the tendency of the individual home owner, when his regular employment is slack, to put in a little of his money and some of his spare time in making improvements in his home. .
