A sad death was that of Mrs. W illiam B Wernwag, which occurred about 12:30 o clock Saturday afternoon, at the residence ..I her brother, Mr Charles W. Button, on Church street. Toed-ceased lady was a resident of this city for a number of years and was known and loved by many. Ten years ago she mar ried and removed to Roanoke, where she ha' since resided. For some time past she bail b> en in delicate health,and three mouths ago she went to Cincinnati to undergo a delicate surgical operation, in the hope ol restoring her health. 1 iii' operation was skilfully performed but her enfeebled and emaciated frame was unequal to the seven trial, and she began to sink. Some days ago her brother, Mr. C W. Button, was tele graphed for. To him «he expressed a desire to be taken to her old home to die. Despite her ex treuie illness, her wish was gratified. She arrived h r.- Saturday by the Norfolk a. d Western road, and was tenderly conveyer to the old home on Church street.
