The excuse is aot only Isms and poor, but it is
not true, the Gazette did oppose the purchase oj
the buildings and the City attempting to ran a
hospital at such great expense, before the pur

The Republican has said that tbe hospital, so

the poor excuse quoted above.
Why, does the Council exp el the people to come

The negr,» voters in "Talbot county, Md., ot
recent meeting in Easton, adopted resolutions
that the colored citizens be represented on the
Republican Central Committee by two members,
to be appointed at the rcorgau|iza:ijn of the same
for Talbot county, and that the time has come
when the colored voters are entitled to be repre

ask for at least two members from each election
district in the county."
Since the Rep a blies n party boosts Us liberality
to the negro, and is sustained in office by their
votes, it is not a little lingular that the negro
not permitted a voice in the councils of Uls party,

hasn't a very exalted opinion of Um Delaware
Railroad. Here is tbe manner in which it
fers to the recent accident, in its issue of Sa
turday.
The disaster on the Railroad bas been
cause of great loss to ouy fruit growers.
Tburday, wagon after wagon could be seen
wending its way to the deUot, loaded with
fruit for the Northern markets. Upon their
arrival the owners were informed "No train
to-day.'' Yesterday morning tha same
swer was received. Ilence our town is flood
ed with fruit, and it being rif a perishable na

amount. Where is tbe fault? Is there not
a dereliction of duty on the part of tbe Dela
ware Railroad ? We really think so. And
now look forward to the day when other roads
will be built to compete will this road. Let
be done, and the people will remember the
juries they have sustained at tha bands

by giving all of its patronag s to the other.
