Tbe next bnslnees in order was tbo election of President of tho Board. Mr. Wilson nominated Mr. Hall, tbe present Incumbent, and tbere being no other nomination, his election waa declared unanimous. The election of Clerk waa then taken up. Mr. Pfarr presented the name of Mr. Blckel, who ailed tbe position last year, and there bolng no other nomination, Mr. Blckel waa declared unanimously elected. The election of Superintendent was next in order, when Mr. Ewlng nominated Prof. F. 8. Williams, and there being no other nomination, he was declared unanimously eleoted. The question of the Baperlntendent'a salary was considered, and Mr. Wilson made the motion that It be the same as last year (11300). Dr. Todd offered as Bn amendment that It be lnoreased lo fifteen hundred dollars. _ Tuo vote on Dr. [Todd's amendment was taken by yeas and nays. Those voting yea were Messrii. Carban, liwlng, Launder, I'/arr, Stewart and Todd?U. Those voting nay were Messrs. Blokel, Ball, Hamilton, Scott, Wilson and Weltzel?0. So the amendment was lost. Mr. Blckel made the motion that It be fourteen hundred dollars, and on this proposition the vote was taken by yeaa and nays. Those voting yea were Messrs. Blckel, Basaett, Carnahan, Ewlng, Hall, Launder, Ffarr, Stewart and Todd?0. Those voting nay wero Messrs. Hamilton, Harrison, Scott, Wilson and Wellzel?5. So Mr. Blckel's proposition prevailed, and the motion as amended was adopted. The salary or the Clerk wan next considered, and on motion of Mr. Wilson the compensation was fixed at live hundred dollars, the same as paid last year. Mr. Wllnon offered the following: Resolved. That the President of the Board be authorized to appoint the standing Committees for the ensuing year, and report the same at the next regular meeting. Adopted.
