The only Important business transacted outside of routine matters was the l*r-> - o" of contracts for work on the county roads. ,0 The committee onrcpurt house and Jail recommended for* payment bills amounting to $752 91, and tho finance committee bills ngregatlng $172 05. The finance committee^Ho reported sheriff's orders returned amounting to $6,032 95. The poor house and farm committee reported monthly bills amounting to 1591 60. During tho past month there were a total of 102 Inmates In the oounty Infirmary, of which seventy-five were white males, twenty-three females, and four colored females. There were three deaths during the month. The contingent poor fund expenses during April were 1861 80. The committee on roads and bridges renorted monthly bills amounting to f 1.750 10. x. The city water boa.nl was granted the privilege of laying m^lna free of charge on the river road. In'exchange for this courtesy they will place watering troughs near the Top Mill, and at the toll gate on the Fairmont pike. On motion the Surburban Railway Company was asked to place a fire plug at the Kim Grove toll gate, no that the property would be protected from fire. J. H. Mazingo filed his bond as superintendent of road precinct No. 9, Liberty district. I . ? Committees of viewers were asked for to locate roads through the lands of Nlnlan Beall and Theodoro Wolfe: also, to locate a road through the property of Boone and Hedges, In Richland district. The committee on roads and bridges was appointed viewers in both instances. The American Telephone and Telegraph Company (Mmg distance telephone company), was onlored to move certain poles on thetiatlonai mad. The Wheeling, West Liberty and Bethany loll gate property was offered for sale.
