The Ttworjr at Bulmtda lltpaJwnOf, bit Um Cimnr Think* lumrl wu Trjli, Co Catclt ft Freight Train. "Good bye, you will never aeo m? again." These were the startling words thai lasued from the llj?s of William Stewart at midnight, Saturday. They were addressed to Ills wife and seven small children, who resldo at the head oi Twelfth atreet. In the East End. J Yesterday morning at 8 o'clock, Stewart's lifeless body was discovered by a Went Wheeling man, floating in the river near the Baltimore & Ohio bridge | at Caldwell's run. South Side. Taking Stewart'a words, the natural theory is that of suicide, but County Coroner Schultze. who made an inve* ligation yesterday, Inclines to the belief that Stewart had gone to the Baltimore & Ohio freight yards near the run, Intending to catch a freight train for boric other city, in search of work. The coroner think* tho man sat down by the tracks, perhaps slumbered and In his sleep rolled down the embankment Into the river and was drowned. Stewart was a bricklayer, and has not had any work throughout the winter. A few days ago he went to Pittsburgh in search of work, but returned last week, unsuccessful and despondent further eftortn to secure employment in Wheeling wore without success and it Is but natural to presume that Stewart became desperate. Tho dead man was not eeen by anyone leaving his home at midnight Saturday. The coroner heard the evidence nf thow> cunnorlcd with the case and gave a verdict of "found drowned." TBS XllfDKB CABS. Th? AlltfMl DlgamUt, who Formerly Lived In Whaling, lUld for Coart, James Minder, alias James F. Murphy, who was arrested at his home in South Strabane township. Monday last. on a charge of bigamy. preferred by J. F. Stiles, was taken before Justice D. M. Donehoo, for a hearing, ways the Washington Observer. He did not accept the opportunity of having evidence in the case Introduced, however, and waived the formality of a hearing, whereupon Justice Ponehoo committ#*d hlrn u? Jail for trial at the May term of court. , Minder entered the magistrate's office I with rather a confident bearing, and In conversation with Marshal Bahra, of Jiellalre. who was prrsent as a witness, seated that he would be released In a short time, as there was no evidence against him. He went on to ?ay that the woman with whom he had been living In Wheeling: wan not his wife, and that he could prove that such wan the case. Marshal Hahm, knowing that this was true, did not interrupt Minder, and the latter was feeling pretty comfortable until the officer remarked. "Well, how about Carrie Miller?" This wai a power for the defendant and he replied, "Great Scott. Is she here?" Mary Miller was not present, but a marriage license dated March 16. 1892. showed that Minder hod been married to a woman of that name March 10. This document was produced and turned over to the district atXorney. It was stated that the woman, whose maiden name wan Mary Miller, and who married Minder in 181*2. Is living In Ohio, and that her absence was due to sickness. Laura Stller, of South Strabane township, who was married to Minder a short time ago. waa at the Justice's office and seemed to regard the defond| ant In a friendly way. The on.** will be | up for trial at the May term of court. BELMONT TRADES COUNCIL A u Extended Krulon of the Labor Body Held Yulrrdax. Yesterday afternoon at Grand Army hall.
