The wool market is unsettled and low er. The belief among dealers is that wo bave not yet touched" bottom, and sales are freely mado at large concessions in ' price to anticipate a further decline. The market is so demoralized that we are unable to name figures at which it will be sate to buy in the country, and the buyers must take the responsibility of saying ' such rates as they think proper. Wo quote sales of new tine unwashed from Illinois and Missouri fat sheep at 20c 1 r These wools lose 70 to 75 pounds to the ' 100 in the process of scouring* Choice ) lots of tine fat sheep wool from Ohio and the best wool growing sections, washing about 60 per cent, are 1 selling at 25c. Coarse and medium i unwashed is freely offered at 28j?)30c and would probably sell at 2oc; combing and delaine unwashed sells at ' 32036c, a decline of 8@10c within six > weeks. Old Michigan fine washed is freely oflered at 35c, but don't sell. rh? , V(,ry best Ohio can be bought at 40042c for line, but is slow of saie, Handsome tub washed is ? ffored at 42046c without finding buyers. California and L fleeces are arriving freely and are much I improved in style and condition. I hey . are sold at 20c unwashed, which is as cheap as the best Ohio washed fleeces . would beat 30c in usual condition. 1 his . decline in tbo market, so Hnd ' rapid, is easily accounted for. I he losses ' ! of the last three yours have culminated In a failure to many large manufacturers, and others have stopped rater than increase the superabundant stock of goods, j j The wool is not goim: into consumption, I stocks accumulate, and pncos fall. Commission ti per cent on sales. Mo other ' charges, except storage on lots held over ' thirty days. Interest on advances 7 per cent per annum. Boston Wool Market. , From the Boatou Journal ol Commerce. The failure of more woolen mills has r had a depressing effect on the market, . aud prices have further declined, with no 5 disposition on the part of the buyers, ex , cept from hand to mouth. , In California wools there is more doing; while it is not Certain that prices f have reached their lowest point, they are deemed to be very near bottom. Ad( vices irom California state that large I quantities of wool are coming in, but in a very interior condition, arid which ' must be sold for what it will briug, while good lots are scarce and in demand at very fair prices. There is almost a panic among many of the farmers and sheep-raisers there over the low prices obtained, and they are selling r their sheep for a third of what they were ? formerly held at; those who arc strong enough to hold on and weather the ex' cilement will undoubtedly be tbe gaindrs 8 in the end. Thero are some arrivals of ' shearling wools here, but no prices have been established, as there are no sales as yet It is used principally by 1 hatters and for felting purposes. Advices from Kentucky slate that the wools are in fine condition; that they j will be worth more to manufacturers than last year, but tbey are not expected to bring over 42c here; last year the prices r was 47b^50c, Very little, if any, has arJ rived as yet, but in a week or two the usual quantity may be expected.
