ers selling goods, wares, and merchandise
generally in any of the public thoroughfares
of the city shall pay to the city the monthly
sufn of five dollars, and a/l wagoners selling
from wagons in said thoroughfares, such
goods, wares, and merchandise for each &
every days exposure of said goods for sale
shall pay the sum of five dollars per day tor
each wagon. No portion of this section
however shall include such persons as pur
sue an exclusive trifle in vegetables The
sale of spiritous liquors at retail to be drank
in said public thoroughfares is hereby pro

street.
The common council of the city of

Section 1. That each and every oc
cupant proprietor, leasee or owner of
any slaughter house or yard shall re
move or cause the same to be removed
together w ith till the accumulated offal
of such house nr yard within ten days j
after the publication of this Ordinance,
and if such occupant, proprietor, lessee
or owner neglect or refuse to remove
such nuisance, such occupant, proprietor
lessee or owner shall pay to the city the
sum of 450 for each and eveiy days con
tinuance of such nuisance.
Section 2. No person shall be per
mitted hereafter to slaughter within
one and a half miles w st, one and
a hall miles south, three quarters of
a mile east of the city hull or within
the city limits on the north, under a
penalty of One Hundred Dollais for each
and every offence.
