Whig County Convention: NOTICE is hereby given to the Whigs of Nevada County that a Whig County Con vention has been called to meet at Nevada City on Saturday, June 2bth, for the purpose of selecting dele gales to represent the Whigs of said county at the State Convention to be held at Sacramento city, on the 6th day of July next, to nominate candidates for the several offices to be filled ai the next Election. The Whigs of the several townships are requested to meet at such time and place as may be convenient, and select delegates to represent them at the county convention. THE .SUBSCRIBER, sole contractor for the construction of the “South Tuba Min ing and Sacramento Canal Company’s” uTorks, hereby invites proposals for building a dam across the Yuba River, at the foot of the canon on said river, at the point where the survey commences. The dam must be constructed of stone and of sufficient strength to resist the pressure of the entire volume of waters of that river when swollen to the highest mark, and a grecably to the design of the company’s En giner, Capt John Day of Grass Valley.
