OBITUARY,
DIED, on the 12th inst., in this Village, after a
lingering illness of several weeks duration, little
WALTER HURLBERT, infant son of Mr. Jove
and Mrs. SARAn Luatei aged two years and four
teen days. .
Alas! How soon has the tender budbeen cut
down, and how early transplanted in the regions of
heavenly bliss I Look upward, look heavenward,
my deeply afflicted friends; for, though the casket
lies low in the cold dark grave, the jewel is en
ahrined in the bosom of God-its happy and im
- mortal home "not made with hands, eternal in
the heavens."
"I take these little lambs," said He,
"And lay them on my breast;
Protection they shall find in me,
In me be ever blest.
Death may the bands of life unloose,
But can't dissolve my love;
- Millions of infants souls compose
The family above." R.
DIND in Hamburg, S. C., on Saturday evening,
8th inst., at a quarter after 10 o'clock, after a short,
but painful illness, which she bore with Christian
for'titude and resignationt to the will of her heav
enly Father, Mrs. ELIZABETH E. SOUTHALL,
wife of Alfred A. B. Southall, in the 20th year of
her age.
She has left a kind and affectionate husband. an
Infant, and two sisters, with a large circle of rela
tives and friends, to mourn her loss-but, they
mourn not.as those who have no hope, for she died
in full hope of that blessed immortality which
reaches beyond the grave, where sickness, sorrow,
pain and death, are felt and feared no more. Al
though she never made a profession of religion,
yet she relied upon the promise of her Skviour
those who seek me early shaji fnd me; and upon
his law did she meditate both by day and night,
and it was her whole study to do and be good
hich lossons she learned from a pious mother and
in he -Sabbath School, of which we may truly sat
she was a graduate, for it was there that she was
taught to love her Saviour and to do his will. and
from there she has moved along through the short
journey of her life with her heart fixed upon him,
until be has called her to the skies. We will give
her up, and say as did one of old, " the Lord gave
and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the
name of the Lord."
".Azigels ever bright and fair,
Take, oh take her to thy care.
'Twas for her the Saviour died
Keep her, dear Saviour, near thy side."
gW Charleston papers will pleaso copy.

be without.-Mor.treal Pilot.
