The net earnings of the bank were about 12 per cent, eight per ceut being paid to the stockholders and the remainder passed, to undivid ed profits. This is an excellent showing. The ball. season has foroq?lly, opened in Edgefield. - The initial game w?s played on the college diamond on Thursday afternoon between the S. C. C. I. nine and -the town boys. The contest was quick, snappy, and" withal very exciting affording barrels of fun and diversion for the onlookers. At the close of the game the score stood 9 to ll in-favor of the college athletes. Mr. Wilmot Ouzts, Btta of the lamented David T, Ouzts, of Johnston, was iu Edgefield during the closing days of "court looking after some legal business connec ed with his father's estate, and one of the attorneys introduced the bright and very promising young man to Judge Prince. After greeting Wilmot very cordially and expressing his delight at meeting him, the Judge said: "I was a student at Wofford college with your father, and if you make the man that he was, you will be all right."
