Mrs. Miles was accompanied on her visit hore by Mrs. Poore, of Abbeville, this State. Mr. Byrd was about 21 or 22 years of age, and was a son of J. W. Byrd, of Seneca. The young man volunteered tor service early, going into service about the time of the declaration ol war by the United States.
