In the Congressional Convention of the Seventh or Black District, at Summerville, last Thursday, Mackey was nominated, the body having been at work five days and taken j over 200 ballots. The final vote was Mackey j 21, Lee 15, Smalls 5, the yellow Congressman's j Beaufort delegation having deserted him. Mackey's new votes were three from Beaufort and two from Colleton, while Lee received one from Colleton. It is said that Sam Lee has determined to remain in the field as an Independent candidate. He has received a petition signed by the delegates from Sumter, Williamsburg and Georgetown urging this course upon him as a duty to the Republican party. Jfnrantial attb Commercial.
