The Steamer Reindeer, which is woll known to

Boston, after a passage of eight days. She has
been raised upon and othorwiso improved, and ?8
bound to Mobile, at which placo bIio will be em
ployed for the future. She was, in respect to
draft and most other requirements, one of the
most successful rnnnors of tho blockade over con
Btructed. She was at Commercial Wharves yes
terday, where ehe will take in a supply of coal.
Bill of Mortality.?Wo find by tho return of
deaths, which has been sent to us by tho City Re
gistrar, that the city not only continues extremely
healthy, hut that less have died than on the pre
vious week?the number of whitos being the same
and tho blacks five less. Of fever thero has been
but one white adult, and one colored adult and
threo children, and tho rest which are recorded
aro diseases generally found in our weekly bills of
mortality.
An Inquest was held on yesterday, by Coroner
Hammond, at No. 54 Hasel-streot, on tho body of
Jack Provost (colorod). Verdict? 'Visitation of
God.*:
New STonaa.?We are very much gratified to
hear that tho contractors have entered upon the
rebuilding of those two largo aud spacious stores
known as Nos. 137 and 10'J, on tho west side of
Meeting-street, the property of Robert Adoer,
Esq., and which were burned down somo time ago
The contractor for the brick work is Mr. Nicholas
Culleton, and the carpenters are Messrs. D. Lo
pez & Son.
