Thc above celebrated Works nero originated and erected during thc years 1^17, 'IS

stantly connected with them as tue principal manager, and since lS0i>, in connection
ivit h his junior brothers, under tho style of Emery Brothers.
During the, summer of 1 MU, lin attended the World's Fair a! Loudon, with some of
his leading invention.-, and remained abroad nearly two years, engaged in sutjBcssfuIlv
establishing their manufacture.
In ilie meantime, owing to embarrassments and losses, the firm of Emerv brothers,
.(insisting of Wm. B. aud G. W. Emery, made au assignment, and those eutiro works

?.xist from November I, 1802, leaving tho brothers, Win. B. and (!. W., hopelessly bank?

On his return from England, in tho early part of 18G4, tho present senior proprietor
negotiated for and rc-purchaswl th?'entire interest, real and personal, in and to those
works aud business, including its entire accumulation of patterns, working machinery
and tts business, and continued thc same, with tho aid of Wm. B. and (?. W.. to No?

exists in the country.
They have largely increased their facilities, made many new and valuable additions
and improvements to their already large assortment of machines, which their expe?
rience ami observa:ion, at home ant abroad, have suggested as desirable.
The senior member ol' tho ?inn is tin- pioneer of this business here, anti he has been
the designer, protector and patentee of all tho leading and successful machines which
have given tho wide celebrity " ti those works; among which aro the EMERY HORSE
POWERS, COTTON GIN'S ami CONDENSERS, Threshing Machines, Sawing Mills.
Corn Shellers, Churning Machine*, Cotton Openers, .Vc., all nf which they now oiler

In the articles of Cotton G hu and Condensers, they are tho only parlies manufactur?

world-wide reputation, notwithstanding other parties ure now presenting that they
have purchased tho Emory Agricultural Works and aro making these celebrated ma?
chines as a glauco at th? facts and (heir machines will satisfy the most common
observer.
The property which was purchased by said other parties, and called the Emery Agri?
cultural Works, consisted of a recent collection of machines, toola, patterns, fcc., bv
Mr. Farr, with the services of Wm. B. and O. W. Emery, and located in thc village of
Bath, in an adjoining County, and in value about $5,000 to $7,000; the two Etnervs tail?
