lOONTTNUED. 1
Oa Ilia roturn, Mr. Cavenabgh
made every requisite preparation for
tho consummation of their approach?
ing marriage. His house, lately pur?
chased, was transformed from begin?
ning to end, intended to be equal to
almost anything in the fashionable
world. His garden was adorned with
shrubbery and flowers, his yard
ornamented in the most tasteful man?
ner, his furniture the most costly of
its kind, and tho most fashionable
in ita style engaged; everything, in?
deed, was done to outdo anything
before known in the city in which ho
lived. Tho citizens marveled at his
extravagance, the ladies commended
his taste. Bettie was congratulated
on her delightful prospects, and her
coming good fortune. Borne, indeed,
predicted ruin and calamity, for when
are there wanting false or even true
prophets under such circumstances?
But Mr. C -enaugh bad a friend,
a gentleman, who, us ho imagined,
saw his downfall. This friend took
him aside to give him his opinion in
regard to tho matter.
"Why, Cavenaugh," said he, "do
you know what yon are doing, or are
you besido yourself?"
"Do you think I am insane?" said
Cavenaugh.
"I think little else, or if not, that
yoa Ore a fool."
"Why so?"
"For many reasons; you aro wast?
ing money, and for what? You aro
about to marry, and whom? You
are a stranger, and your intended is
so likewise to you. You wero edu?
cated to economy, sho to extrava?
gance. You have a fortune, she has
nothing. In R little time she will
ruin you; or, if not she, her mother
will."
"Oh!" said Cavenaugh, "I give
thom the reins now, but I shall take
them when I am married!"
"And what will you have to drive
then?"
"A coach and four."
"Yes, and you will go to ruin the
faster!"
"Why, I am making five hundred
a day."
"And spending a thousand!"
"Oh, no! not quite so bad as that;
besides, I will soon stop these ex?
penditures. My house is almost com?
pleted, and my furniture is all en?
gaged."
"And paid for too?"
"No, not quite."

. A Truly Wonderful Medicine!
RE1X1TSIFS QUEEN'S DELIGHT,
Liver Complaint Cured by Queen's
I Delight/
THE symptoms of Liver Complaint are
uneasiness and pain in the right side,
and soreness upon touch immediately
under the inferior ribs; inability to lie
upon the left side, or, if at all, a dragging
seiiHation is produced which seriously
at?cete respiration, causing, very often, a
troublesome cough. Together with these
symptoms, wo pereeivo a coated tongue,
acidity of the stomach, deficiency of per?
spiration, and sometimes a sympathetic
pain in thc shoulder, with a great disposi?
tion to sleep, aud depression of spirits,
and sometimes sores in the mouth or
throat. These symptoms, if permitted to
continue, will ey ont nally produce consump
tion, the most bauelul of all diseases.
Dyspepsia.
Tho symptoms of Dyspepsia are various;
those affecting the stomach are nausea,
heart-burn, loas of appotito, disgust tor
food, sometimes a depraved appetite,
sense of fulness or weight in tho stomach,
sinking or fluttering in the pit of the sto- j
mach, sour eructations, coated tongue, i
acidity of the stomach, hurried and uifli- j
cult breathing, ?Sec.
Tho sympathetic affections are very di
versified-edd feet, pain or weakness !
through the limbs, swimming of the head, .
sudden Hushes of boat, tte.
Tho use of the QUEEN'S DELIGHT I
should bc persevered in until every symp- i
tom of Dyspepsia has vanished, and health :
is entirely restored.
Derangements of the Liver and
Stomach
Are Bources of insanity. From diaordi r
or obstruction, a morbid action of thc; sym?
pathetic and other nerves follows, and the
iunctions of the brain are impaired and
deranged; derangement there will also
produce disease of the heart, skin, lungs
and kidneys, lt is owing to the same
canse that thousands die with Cholera,
Bilious or Yellow Fever, and that most
baneful disease, Consumption.
Tho origin of numerous cases of Con?
sumption is impaired digestion; and many,
many cases of supposed Consumption
could bo eutirely cured by the uso of the
QUEEN'S DELIGHT, as tho emaciation,
debility and cough attending weakness of
the digestive organs are so near allied to
the symptoms of Consumption, that the
one disease is frequently mistaken for the
other.
Notice.
It is a well-eutablislitd fact that fully
one-half of tho fi n?ale portion of our
population are seldom in tue enjoyment of
good health, or, to use their own expres?
sion, "never feel weil." They aro languid,
devoid of all energy, extremely nervous
and have no appetite. To this class of
invalids, the Queen's Delight is especially
recommended. Their peculiar tonic and
invigorating properties render it invalua?
ble in snell cases. Thc patient should im?
mediately discard all pills and powders, ?is
they only weaken the system, and resort to
the use of tho Quoen's Delight, tho inva?
riable result of which will be strong ami
hearty constitution, a disappearance of all
nervousness, a good appetite and aporfect
restoration to health.
Weak and delicate childe u are made
strong-by using the Qni'on's l-' l'i. In
fact, it ie* a Family .Med- me; n i nu bu ad?
