COUNSEL FOR THE CARELESS-Tho
body ia a machino, and carelessness in its manage
ment is as Burc to lead to ovil results as careless?
ness in the management of a steam engine. Yet j
tho last thing that most people think of is thc
protection of this delicato piece of tho Creator's
handiwork from tho subtle causes of disoaso by
which it is surrounded. It is no easy thing to re?
pair the system when in ruins; but thero is no
difficulty in fortifying it against many of tho dan?
gers to which it is exposed. Guard against nervous
debility. At tho first symptoms of this fore-runner
of more serious ailments, sustain tho flagging
energies ornature with HOSTETTER'S STOMACH
BITTERS. Take it regularly and persistently,
until bodily vigor ?B thoroughly restored. It cre?
ates an appetite, promotes-or, it might as pro?
perly bo said, compels-tho complete digestion of |
tho food, regulates the sccrctivo action of the
liver, tones and invigorates tho bowels, improves
tho condition of thc blood, and gives firmness to
tho norves. Upon a system thus strengthened
and regulated in all its important functions, tho
logs and cxbalations of autumn, pregnant with
the elements of intermittent and remittent fever,
can make littlo or no impression. Whoever sup?
poses that fever and ague is an unavoidable evil in
certain distriotB, at tbis season of tho year, is
egregiously mistaken. As effectually as a draught j
of cold air is shut out by tho closing of a door,
this complaint, and all disorders of a miasmatic
tvpo, may be prevented by the uso of the BITTERS.
VVnen sickness can be avoided by a moans so safe
and siniplo, is it not tho merest fatuity to noglcct
tho proffered antidoto? Regarded either as a pre?
ventive or a euro for dyspepsia, biliousness,
intermittent fever, nervons disorders, general
debility, or constipation of thc bowels, this pure
vegetable preparation stands alone.
