Soluble Manures and Sulphuric Acid,
MANUFACTURED at Charleston, under the direction of Dr. N. A. PRATT, Chemist for
tho Sulphuric Acid and Super-Phosphate Companv.
SOLUBLE PHOSPHORIC ACID, in tho form of SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE OF LIME, or
DISSOLVED BONE PHOSPHATE, is tho basis of all good Fertilizers, and these are valuable
in tho ratio of Soluble Phosphoric Acid which is in them.
Tho immcnao deposits of Phosphoric Ouanos which were discovered in 1SG7 in South Caro?
lina, by Dr. PRATT, consists mainly of Insoluble Phosphate of Lime, which is made available
as a Fertilizer by being ground to powder, and reduced by Sulphuric Acid to such a condition
as to mako its insoluble phosphate soluble in water, and thus made capable nf being taken up
by growing plants. The insoluble. Phosphate found in anv commercial Fertilizer is of no
moro value to thc plant than the original Phosphate roek. The greater tho proportion of this
Solublo Phosphate which any Fertilizer contains, the lesa the quantity required per aero, and
consequently tho cheapest Fertilizer is that containing the highest per centage of Soluble
Phosphate.
Impressed with these truths, the Sulphuric Acid and Super-Phosphate Company have orectcd
at Charleston, tho first extensivo Acid Chambers South of Baltimore, and are ablo to oller to
plantera tho highest per centage of Solublo Phosphate of Lime known in any market.
Their Fertilizers aro offered under two forms:
1. Etlwan, No. 1-PURE SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE, guaranteed to contain 21 per cont, ol
Dissolved Bone Phosphate of Limo, f GO per ton, 10 per cent, discount for cash.
3. EUwnn. .No. 3-PERUVIAN SUPER-PHOSPHATE, guaranteed to contain 20 per cent,
of Dissolved Bone Phosphate, and \\ to 8 per cont, of Ammonia, with a sufficient addition of
Peruvian Guano to adapt it to all Crops, $70 per ton, 10 per cent, discount for cash.
WK ALSO OVFEB:
I DISSOLVED BONE, of high grado, for planters or manufacturers, who may desire to mix
i into any other compost, and we suggest that this is the best and cheapest method for manu?
facturers to transport the Sulphuric Acid contained in the mixture. Will bo Bold at fixed rate

DISEASES OF THE BLOOD.
"The lifo of tho flesh is in tho blood," is a
Scriptural maxim that Science proves to be
true. The people talk of bad blood as the
causo of many diseases, and, like many popu?
lar opinions, this of bad blood is founded in
truth.
The symptoms of bad blood are usually
quite plain. Rad digestion causes imperfect
nutrition, and, consequently, the circulation
is feeble, tho soft tissues loeo thoir tono and
elasticity, and tho tongue becomes pale,
broad and frequently covered with a pasty
white coat. Thia condition soon shows itself
in roughness of the skin, then in E&UPTIVE and
ULCERATIVE disoasea, and, when long conti?
nued, results in serious lesions of the Brain,
Liver, Lungs or Urinary Apparatus. Much,
very much, suffering is caused by impure
blood. It is estimated by soma that* one-lift h
of tho human family are ?ffectod with Scrofula
in some form.
Whon tho Blood is pure, you aro not so liable
to any discaso. Many impurities of tho Blood
arise from impure diseases of largo cities.
Eradicate everv impurity from the fountain of
life, and good spirits, fair skin aud vital
strength will return to you.

DISEASES OF THE KIDNEYS AND

Persons unacquainted with tho structure

Regular and sufficient action of the Kidneys
ia as important, nay, even more HO, than regu?
