town office, and already have a
beer license. Lunches also will be
served.

a success in spite of the disagree
able weather.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Loney and
children, now of Kalispell, visited
here Saturday.
Word has been received from
Mrs. Ryan, Glasgow, that she is
much improved, although still con
fined to the hospital there. We
hope she recovers rapidly.

Wednesday looking after business
interests and visiting old acquain
tances.
Mrs. Herbert Boots and children
are visiting with her parents in
Portland for a few weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Si Tonner made
a business call to Butte and Hel
ena this week.
Everyone hasn't quit smoking
cigarettes, but the sudden desire
for cigars the last day or two
was in honor of the new McCarty
daughter, named Kathleen Marie.

Mrs. William Hansen, sister-in
law of Mrs. Martin Miller stopped
over Monday en route from Minn
eapolis to her home in Salem, Ore.
A group of our high school stu
dents went to Missoula to view
the freedom train.
Don Redding is driving a new

Mr. and Mrs. Newton Olsen and
daughter will leave the Hungry
Horse village this weekend. Mr.
Olsen has accepted a position with
the U. S. Engineers at Fort Peck.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Hendericksen
and two sons will leave the vill
age for Hot Springs where they
plan to establish a private busin
ess.
A farewell party for Mrs. Ol
sen and Mrs. Hendericksen
was given by Mrs. David Culver
and was attended by the mothers
of the pre-school group .We are
sorry to see these families leave
the project.
Mrs. Thomas Kilcrease enter
tained at a desert bridge Tuesday.
Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Chambers
carried off the honors in the bridge
competition with the others in
cluding Mrs. Officer, Mrs. Culver,
Mrs. Bjornstad, Mrs. Drake and
Mrs. Webber.
Mr. and Mrs. John Ventrees and
children, John and Nancy, have
now taken up residence at the
village. Mr. Ventrees transferred |
from Coulee Dam and will be the
chief inspector on the dam.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Beck and
daughter, Rosalind, are now liv
ing at the village. Mr. Beck was
previously employed by the forest
service.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hengen,
Spokane, brother-in-law and sis
ter of Mrs. H. P. Weber, spent the
weekend with the Webers.
Mrs. Kent Davis has returned
home from an extended trip to
Nevada and California, where she
visited her son and relatives.
A group of friends gathered at
the home of Mrs. Glen Smith Mon
day evening in honor of Mrs. Ja
mes Potter. Several enjoyable ga
mes of pinochle were played. Mrs.
Melvin Mack won first and Mrs.
Arnold Johnson received consola
tion. Mrs. Potter received many
lovely gifts.

Potter to Open Rêàl
Estate Office in M. C.
James L. Potter plans to open
his Martin City real estate office
across from the Deer Lick by the
end of the week.
Potter owns a tract of line on
highway No. 2, and will also act
as an agent for other land and
building transactions.
He is a former employe of the
Conrad national bank in Kalispell
and previously was a Great Falls
resident.
