Around Apgar
By Apgar School
Twenty-five of our twenty-seven
pupils were back to school Monday
morning after our ten days va
cation. It is good and cold, 15
to 20 degrees below.
We are very pleased that we
have our new shades. We want
to thank the mothers of Apgar
for them, and we thank Mr. and
Mrs. Davis and the Arthur, An
derson family for putting them up.
We have a committee appoint
ed to buy our little radio for
the school. They are Rae Marie
Price, chairman, Joanne Vincent,
and Jerome Mackin. The com
mittee to buy some things for
the rythm band is Sherry Davis,
chairman, Joan Fisher, and Ed
ward Willits.
Mr. and Mrs. Salansky and chil
dren went to Conrad the dav
after Christmas. They were over
there during the week. Mr. Sat
ans ky came back with them Sun
day and left on the train half
an hour later.
December 30, Mr. and Mrs. L. B.
Wagner of Apgar returned from
their Christmas vacation at Big
Timber. They visited Mrs. Wag
ner's parents.
Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Willits and
boys were dinner guests at the
BU Moore home in Martin City,
Sunday.
Jackie Washburn, Sherry Davis,
and Arthur Anderson enjoyed an
afternoon at the Belton ski course.
Elaine Anderson had a birth
day party Monday afternoon. Sev
eral friends were invited. Sand
wiches, ice cream, and cake were
served, and games were played.
Bemie and Lloyd Wagner spent
Saturday and Sunday combining
work with fun for the boys on
the Apgar hill. They made several
trips with their jeep for the boys
in town. Each return trip netted
a good supply of dry wood. The
jeep would drop about 20 sixteen
foot trees each time.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Price and
family spent Christmas in Kalis
pell. They ate dinner at Mr. Price's
sister's, Mrs. Ralph Smith. At.
four o'clock they attended the
wedding of Mrs. Price's brother,
Murray A. Switzer. The brida
was Marcelle Fulton, of Kalis
pell. It was the second wedding
Rae Marie , Price had attended
in her life time. Billy Price did
not go to the wedding.
Barbara Wiles returned to Boze
man by bus Sunday, where she
attends school. She stayed over

STATE FORESTS —By Rutledge Baker, State Forester.
The nineteenth session (1925) of the State Legislature created
State Forests, namely; Stillwater and Coal Creek in Flat
seven
head County, Swan River in Hake County, Thompson River in
Sanders County, Clearwater in Missoula County, Sula in Rav
alli County and Lincoln in Lewis and Clark County. These sev
forests comprise a total of 235,876 acres. In addition, there
are 450,124 acres of scattered lands, mostly common school
sections 16 nd 36, 150,000 cres of which re clssed s non-comee
sections 16 and 36, 150,000 acres of which are classed as non
commercal forest lands, total 686,000 acres.
The State has collected from sale of its timber $3,000,000.00
during the past 40 years. If the future cut of State timber con
tinues on about the same basis, the supply is sufficient for a
period of 80 years, which would produce an addiional income
of $7,000,000.00, or more. Land uses such as the grazing of live
stock, will very materilly increase the annual Income from $10,
000.00 to $15,000.00 per year or more. Due to the heavy demand
for war purposes, income from the State Forests for the fiscal
years 1944 and 1945 was greater than any previous years.
The State Forests are included in a part of the land grant to
Montana by the Federal Government. All income from the
State Forests are allocated to the common schools and other
en
State institutions mentioned in the land grant.
All of the State-owned forest lands are protected from the
ravages of forest fires at a cost of approximately $20,000.00
per year.

What Chiropractic Has
Done For Children
The Following Statistics Speak For Themselv
From over half a hundred children's clinics throughout the U.
the following statistics hav e been compiled and recorded and
one signed by the parents of the children.
The children ranged in ages from 3 to 13.
"More than 85 per cent of the children were found to have!
curvatures already developing, which resulted in poor p®
general sluggishness, low internal resistance to diseases, rest
from disturbed or impaired NERVE ENERGY."
"These statistics clearly indicate that sickness begins in
life an d we are led to the conclusion that "birth Injuries" '
pass unnoticed until Nature's resistance is broken down are th
sic CAUSES of the majority of adult Illness."
The above ar e quotations from the doctors report under «
supervision this great work was carried oh.
Do not allow your children to grow up under such handicap. I
their spine straightened so they may enjoy health.
