The instrument was read by Mr

action in the election of officers but
as we have holdovers it was resolved
that the farmers should meet the third
Saturday in May which will be the

first reading the constitution and by
laws which must appeal to every tiller
of the soil
After Mr Mathews had finished
reading the document he made brief
but eloquent remarks on the duty of
the farmer to himself to organize on
purely protective lines
Mr Dehon believes in the power of
the press and desired the constitution
and bylaws printed so all could read
digest and then act Mr Light the I
secretary was of the same opinion
The secretary was ordered to secure
a book In which to transcribe the con
stitution and bylaws and keep a rec
ord of meetings The Star and Ban
ner were requested to publish consti
tution and bylaws and proceedings
Mr Lem Graham was absent be
cause his horse got away from him
but reported as treasurer that he had

ODE TO THE FLIRT
An ode to the flirt to the feminine
flirt
Who is sweeter than honey though
fickle as fate
From the top of her hat to the tip ot
her skirt
She is grace she is beauty en
throned and in state
And what if she treads on a heart now
and then
And sometimes the joy that she
gives turns tp sighs
She repays what her sisters have bor
rowed of men
And the tears undeserved that have
dimmed maidens eyes
An ode to the flirt May She never
grow dull
Or ugly or agedand these she will
not
Her eyes must be bright and her
cheeks must be full
Else her name is not hers nor her
butterfly lot
She never is married she never is old
She rules in the charm and the
sweetness of youth
Where she flits it is summer though
weather be cold
She embroiders with kindness the
I garment of truth
An ode to the flirt A reflex of the
sun
A song set in silence The warble
of birds
All hail to the flirt I would not spoil
a one
