A REMARKABLE RECORD
Chamberlains Cough Remedy has a
remarkable record It has been in use
for over thirty years during which
time many million bottles have been
sold and used It has long been the
I
standard and main reliance in the
treatment of croup in thousands of
homes yet during all this time no
case has ever been reported to the
manufacturers in which it failed to ef
fect a cure When given as soon as
the child becomes hoarse or even as
soon as the croupy cough appears it
will prevent the attack It is pleasant
to take many children like it It
contains no opium or other harmful
substance and may be given as confi
dently to a baby as to an adult For

StORM IN SOUTH FLORIDA
South Florida was swept by a severe
ere storm Sunday morning The
Tampa Tribune which with its usual
3
enterprise got out an extra edition
this morning says i
Tampa was yesterday visited by a
1
combined hurricane and rainstorm
prevailing for the greater part of the
day and doing almost Incalculable
damage throughout this city and sec

ionThe i
The wind at Tampa reached a ve I
locity of sixty miles an hour All telegraph I
I
egraph service was immediately cut
off and will not be restored until some I
time today All electric power was I
cut off and street cars were unable to
run from 930 a m until 8 p m The
electric lighting service was also en
tirely cut off and the city was in dark
ness all night
The most serious damage from the
hurricane appears to be to the orange
crop in this section In a section ex
tending from Ocala to Fort Myers
and probably further south the storm
swept through the groves leveling the
trees and destroying a large portion
of the crop It was estimated las
night that fully onethird of the crop i
in this section has been wiped out
In Tampa hundreds of buildings
i
were damaged man yof them un roof
ed Only two fatalities are reported
The damage to property has been
great The storm Caused an almost
total suspension of business
Fortunately there was but little
damage to shipping the masters of
vessels having been fully warned by
the weather bureau It is feared how
ever that the steamship Josephine
sailing from Mobile Friday for Tam
pa and the Eva I Shenton sailing
from Tampa Friday for Mobile re
ceived the worst of the blow and prob
ably suffered greatly
It is believed that the center of the
storm passed west of Tampa Key
West doubtless received the full force
of it but reports from that city can
not be obtained
The damage to buildings and other
properties in the city is conservative
ly estimated at 50000 The damage
to the orange crop is incalculable as
yetPa
Passenger trains arrivng last night
bring news that the destruction
wrought by the storm prevtiled over
the entire section south of Ocala the
trees along the tracks were all down
and in the towns buildings were
wrecked and the property loss was
evidently great
