THANKSGIVING COMFORT
I
Bo thankful Why Be thankful t
that the Lord is good Start on this j
highnote on Thanksgiving day be
cause all are counted in I cannot
feel as if I had reached the top till I
I return thanks for something that is I
the property of all
Now some can be thankful that they
have plenty of money Well it may
give them a merry comfortable feel
ing but they would feel still better if
they particularly help those who wish
ed they had even a little No we
must get up higer and I do not know
of a better place to start from than
where the Psalmist started 0 give
thanks unto the Lord for he is good
Do you know what a change it would
make in many people if they really be
lieved that I dont believe that many
people actually believe that God is
good You say he is at least a few
do and they say it and all that but
it is a tremendous thing to believe it
Why it would make such a transfor
mation in people if they really believ
ed it that I think it would soon change
their circumstances for faith is a won
dorful power
I was imagining only today suppose
Borne one who did not know anything
at all about God had only just heard
there was a God but did not know
what he was lige should go to some
oir they had lizard had quaintance
t
with him and should I have
say just I
heard there is really a God Can you
t1 ne what he is like And if the
one to whom this question was put
sould really know him that one would
say Oh yes I can tell you what he
I
is like he is like a mother A I
mother Do cu mean it Yes I do
lt is in a book that tells about God
and it says that God himself said As
a mother comfortcth so will I comfort
you Comfort Comfort me as my
mother used to do Why I remember
if I hurt my little finger she would kiss
the place to make it well Do you
mean to tell me that God is like that
I do He is just like that but oh his
love is everlasting love his arms are
everlasting arms No matter what
your hurt may be he will kiss your
spirit and whisper It will not be long
my child Your earthly home may not
be what you wished but your Fathers
house is not far off You are coming
to the place were there are no more
tears neither sorrow nor sighing
Isnt that kissing the place to make it
well
No one knows better than I do what
it is to miss the loved ones on Thanks
giving Day There are no Thanksgiv
ing dinners for many people at this
time In some cases nearly all the
family are on the other side But dont

i satisfied till we all get there I am
i I
I so glad they miss us We maybe
J have thought how we miss them I
I but we have done them injustice by
thinking that their surroundings were
I i
so wonderful that they would not I
think of us Would that be like them
i
I They are just the same
I Some Christians must look out or j
j they will not have a Thanksgiving
I day within them and it is the with
I in that tells The trouble is with
I many of us we do not know God as he
j is Maybe from our very childhood I
j we have had strong thoughts about
I God An error in the mind is a very I
I
I serious thing Maybe our mothers
I 0
j told rs that if we were good God I
i would love 1115 leaving the error in the I

j once and it stayed and grew with mo

I would say hif I was very good God
i would love me imt I am not good and I
