Fever and Ague, from which mankind suffer over a large part of ths globe, is the consequence of a diseased action the svstem, indused by the poisonous miasm of vegetable decay. This exhalation is evolved by the action of solar keat on wet soil, and rises with the watery vapor from it. While the aun is below the horison this vapor lingers near the earth's sur face, and the virus is taken with it through the lungs into the blood. There it acta as an irritating nnisoa ontht internal viscera and excreting orpans the body. The liver becomes torpid and fails to secrets not only this virus, but also the bile from the blood. Both the virus and the bile accumulate the circulation, and produce violent constitu tional disorder. The spleen, the kidneys, and the stomach sympathise with the liver, and become disordered also. Finally, the instinct of our or ganism, as if in an attempt to expel the noxious infusion, concentrates the whole blood of the body the internal excretories to force them to cast it out. The blood leaves the surface, and rushes to the central organs with congestive violence. Thia theCim.L. But in this erfiirt it faila. Then the Fkver follows, in which the blood leaves the cen tral organs and rushes to the surface, as if in another effort to expel the irritating poison through that other great excretory the akin. In thia also it fails, and the system abandons the attempt exhausted, and waits for the recovery of strength repeat the hopeless effort another day. These are the fits or paroxysms of Faven AND Aaua. Buch constitutional disorder will of course under mine the health if it is not removed. We have labored to find, and have found, an antidote, Ayer's Ague Cure, which neutralises this malarious poison in the ki.n.i i .!.,,, i;..r ... ....el ; rnm i. body. As it should, so it docs cure this alhicting viuui,, uu ... .v ...r... .... disorder with perfect certainty. And it does more, r nher does what is of more service to those sub ject to this infection. If taken in season it expela from the system as it is absorbed, and thus keeps those who use it free frnin its attacks ; keeps the system in health although exposed to the disease. 11 not only cures, imi pruieuis iruiu. the great variety of affections which arc induced by this malignant influence, such aa Remittent Fever. Chill Fever, Dumb, or Masked Ague, Periodical Headache, or bilious Headache, Bilious Fevers, Neuralgia, Rheumatism, Gout, blindness, loothaehe, barache, Catarrh, Asthma, Palpita tions, Painful Affections of the Bpleen, Hysterics, Colic, Paralysis, and Painful AfTectiona of the Stomach and Bowels, all of which, when arising from this cause, will be found to assume more or less the intermittent type. This " Aoua C'l'KB" removes the cause of these derangements, and cures the disease. This it accomplishes by stimulating the excre tories to expel the virus from the system ; and these organs by dogrees become habited to do thia their office of their own accord. Hence arises what we term acclimafation. Time may accomplish the same end, but often life is not long enough, or is sacrificed in the attempt, while this Aoi'B Curb " does it at once, and with safety. We have great reason to believe this is a surer aa well as safer remedy for the whole class of diseases which are caused by the miasmatic infection, than nny other which has been discovered ; and it has still another Important advantage to the publis, which is, that is cheap as well as good. PREPARED DT DR. J. C. AYER & CO. LOWELL, MASS. Price One Dollar per Bottli. Ayer's Cherry Pectoral has won for itself such a renown for the cure of every variety of Throat and Lung Complaint, that it it entirely unnecessary for uh to recount the evidence of its virtues, wherever it has heen em ployed. As it hns long been in constant use throughout thia section, we need not do more than assure the people its quality is kept up to the best it ever has been, and that it may be relied on to do for their relief all it has ever teen found to do. It Is r fact thnt, at some period, every mem ber of the liuninn family is subject to disease or disturbnnce of the bodily functions; but, witn the aid of a. good tonio and the exercise of plain common sense, they may be able so to regulate Ihe system as to secure permanent health. In order to accomplish thia desired object, the true course to pursue is certainly that which will produco a natural stnte of things at the least hazard of vital strength nnd life. For this purpose, Dr. llostcttcr has in troduced to this country a preparation bearing his name, which is not a new medicine, but one that has been tried for years, giving satisfac tion to all who have used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon the stomach, bowels, and liver, restoring them to a healthy and vigorous action, nnd thus, by the simple pro cess of strengthening nature, enable the sys tem to triumph over disease. For tho cure of Dyspepsia, Indigestion, Nau sea, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, or any Bilious Complaints, arising from a morbid inaction of the H'.rmach or Bowels, producing Cramps, DyBcntcry, Colio, Cholera Morbus, &c., these Bitters have no equal. Dinrrhu-'n, dysentery or flux, so generally con tracted hy new settlers, and caused principally by the change of water and diet, will be speedily regulated by a brief use of this preparation Dyspepsia, a disease which is probubly more prevalent, in all its various forms, than any other, and the cause of which may always be attributed to derangements of the digestive organs, enn bo cured without fail by using IIOSTLTTEH'S STOMACH BITTERS, as pel directions on the bottle. For tliia disease every physician will recommend Bitters of some kind; then why not use an article known to be infal lible? All nations havo their Bitters, as a pre ventive of disease and strcngt honor of the sys tem in general; and among them all there ia not to be found a more healthy people than the Germans, from whom this preparation ema nated, bused upon scientific experiments which have tended to prove the value of this great preparation in tho Bcale of medical science. Fever and Aiice. This trying and provok ing disease, which fixes ils relentless grasp on the body of man, reducing him to a mere sha dow in a short tinio, und rendering him phy sically and mentally useless, can be driven from the body by the uso of HOSTETTtll S UENOWNED BITTEI13. Further, none of the above-stated diseases can be contracted, even in exposed situations, if the Bitters are used as por directions. And as they neither create nausea nor offend the palate, and render un necessary any change of diet or interruption of ordinary pursuits, but promote sound sleep and healthy digestion, the complaint is re moved as speedily aa is consistent with the pro duction of a thorough and permanent euro. For i'ertont in Advanced Ytart, who art suffering from an enfeebled constitution and infirm body, these Bitters are ihvuluublo as a restorative of strength and vigor, and need enly be tried to be appreciated. And to a mother while nursing those Bitters are indis pensable, especially where the mother'! nour ishment is inadequate to the demands of the child, consequently her strength must yield, and here it is where a good Ionic, such aa llostctter's Stomach Bitters, is needed to impart temporary strength and vigor to the system. Ladies should by all means try this remedy for all cases of debility, and, before so doing, hould ask their physician, who, if he is acquainted with the virtue of tho Bitters, will recommend their use in all cases of weakness. CAUTION -We caution the publio against using any of the many imitations or counterfeits, but ask for Hostettir'i Celebrated Stomach Bitters, and see that each bottle baa the words "Dr. J. Hosteller's Stomach Bitters" blown on tie aid of ths bottle, and stamped on the motallio cap overing the cork, and observe that our autograph signature Ii en the label. This certifies that I have been in very poor health for years, and found little or no relief alter employing a number ol physicians. My oiaeaaa was l'rolupsis Uteri. I had been reduced by that and Flouror Albus until I had become ulcerated to a considerable extent. By the advice of Dr. G. W. Bushuell I procured and took six bottles of Marshall's Uterine Catholicon which enabled me to attend to my husband in his last sickness until he died, which waa about a year aince. I have taken three boiiles aince his death, which has made me able to labor and support my family of three children. Tho Catholicon has nearly restored me to health It is the only thing that has mitigated my suffering for which I fell very grateful. MARY E. ROBINSON FOR SALE BY A ConV, Chardon. C. P.
