As a matter of record, Cooper is a genuine westerner he was born in Helena, Montana. His first big role in films was in a western, Harold Bell Wright’s “The Winning of Barbara Worth.” “High Noon” is his 19th role in a major film with a western background, westerns having accounted for some twen ty-five percent of his roster of highly distinguished pictures.
