Ladies will please bring their boxes. ' Mrs. Ida Morris of Akron was the guest of Mrs. Geo. Dean and Mrs. M Ebert several days the past week. Mrs. Mamie Sterrett has returned to her home at Live ,Oak, Fla., a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hartman. The funeral of Mrs. Ernest Myers was held at the home Friday fore noon, conducted by Rev. Crawford and the remains taken to Toledo for bur ial. Sincerest sympathy is felt for Mrs. Myer's family because of her un timely death. "The Spinsters' Fortnightly ' club" at the high school Saturday evening. Friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Nichols enjoyed a Hallo we'en party and husking bee at the Nichols' home Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. John Hunt and daugh ters were Sharon Sunday vis'tors, also Mr. and Mrs. John Whipple of Medina. GARDEN ISLE Mr. John Milkey of this place and Miss Mae Storms of Lodi slipped quietly away Saturday, Oct. 31, and were united in marriage at Medina, They will reside with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Milkey. IJoth are well known in this vicinity and the heartiest congratulations are extended the happy couple by their many friends. What is known as the old Sam Archer house, but now owned and occupied by Mr. Jackson and sister, Mrs. Wise, was burned to the ground last Thursday afternoon, no one being at home. Mrs. Wise was at the 1 Hips' aid. Mr. Jackson was o n the Isle. They think it started from de fective flues. The ladies' aid society met at the home of Mrs. Clem Bensinger on Thursday. The day was spent in sewing carpet rags for Mrs. James Wiler. A nice lot of rags was sewed besides a pleasant social time being enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. James Dull took din ner Sunday with Lucien Swortz and family. Ruth Birney of Navarre and Mrs, Lula Malcom and Miss Clara Overs and Merrell Younker of Burbank spent Tuesday evening with Law rence and Hazel Clinker. Mrs. Lehman of Madisonburg vis ited with her son C. A. Lehman and family last week. Horr, Warner & Co. shipped the last of their celery Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Milkey visit ed the latter's mother and brother, Mrs. Wentland of West Salem on Wednesday. Hiram Lehr of Congress called at the Clinker home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hagens and daughter of West Salem were guests of the former's father, D. Hagens and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kime, Jr., and daughter Huldah visited mends in Litchfield Sunday. Mrs. Lillie Stratton visited . with friends in Ashland the latter part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. James Dull spent the litter nart of the week with their daughter, Mrs. Effie Simcox and hus' band of Esselburn Corners. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kime and their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Merton Kime and daughter attended the quarterly meeting at Red Haw Sunday. Mrs. Susan English visited Mrs. Al mie Weaver a counle of days last week. Rev. Wilson and wife of Burbank spent Friday afternoon with Mrs Pauline Clinker and family. Mr. and Mrs. George Underwood were Sunday guests of his brother, Fred and family at Friendville. Mr. Fred Kullert and family of Aukerman called on Will Wagner and family Sunday. Clarence Oswald and family visied his parents, Will Oswald and family of Lodi Sunday. Mrs. John Baughman has been on the sick list the past week. Charley Ditch has gone to Elyria where he will work in the Garford works. Charley's two brothers, Har rison and Grant work in the same shop. Jessie Aukman has been quite ill the past week. Jessie Young of Rittman, was in town Monday. Miss Nina Bricker and William Mc- Norton of Burbank, were united in marriage last Wednesday morning at the Reformed parsonage in Wooster by Rev. E. E. Young. They will re side in Burbank. Miss Tillie Myers, who is working in Lodi, spent Sunday in town. . Mrs. Strouse and Mrs. Simmers 6pent Thursday at the home of High Higgens and wife. Mrs. Floyd Young has been on the ick list for a few days. Mrs. Jennie Myers and Mrs. Edith Dull visited with Mrs. Chas. Gast Saturday. William Myers spent Sunday at the home of Chas. Gast and wife. Jason Hower is quite sick at this writing. Mrs. Floyd Baker and children of Creston, visited friends in town Sat urday. Russel who was quite ill the past week, is some better again. Mr .and Mrs. Paul of Akron, vsited their daughter, Mrs. Wm. Marshall the first of the week. Four automobiles from Wooster, conveying temperance speakers pass ed through here on Sabbath evening, halted for a few minutes while Mr, Jarvis, one of their number, gave a short but truthful and instructive speech. Chas. Russel and kdy friend of Wooser ,were Canaan guests Saturday afternoon. Meetings at the M. E. church still continue with larger and attentive audiences. ' LODI Class No. 10 of the M. E. church en tertained class No. 11 at the home of Mr. Newmyer. The evening was spent in playing Hallowe'en stunts after which dainty refreshments were iterved. , Miss Hannah Rice of Spencer spent Saturday and Sunday with Miss K. Knight Albert Collins and wife of Cleve land spent the latter part of the week at the E. L. Plank liome. The Lodi high school had a party Saturday night in the basement of the new school building. ' Gail Dean had his ankle broken on Friday nieht while going down the steps at school. Mr. Wilson and family and Willis Rumbaugh of Rocky River spent Sun day at the Rumbaugb; home. Ed. Warner has purchased a new Overland car. Emma Bennader of Ashland spent Sunday at home. MUNSON Home missionary day will be ob served at Reformed church on Sunday morning, November 15. Elmer Eshelman and wre, and it, V.. Rrowand and family, visited at Kirk Seeley's in Litchfield last Satur day evening. J. Hein, wife and son Vinton vis ited at A. Stahle's in Litchfield last Sunday. Perrv Stahle of Medina visited at Elmer Eshelman's last Sunday. J. Hien and family were in Woos ter last week.
