Guy Lowry began work the first of
the week for Mr. Campbell, of Pitts

day, on business.
Minor Barrett, of New London vis
ited his aunt Mrs. Mary Beebe, Sun
day. J. P. and J. A. Lee drove over to
Norwalk Saturday.

field visited at Mr. and Mrs. C. E.
Fox's Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCoy are stay
ing in Pen field at present.
There will be a flag social at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Greene,
Wednesday night, August 30. Ice
cream and cake will be served for the
benefit of the Epworth League.
Brighton Grange will make an ex
hibit at the Wellington Fair.
A load of new chairs arrived for the
town hall one day last week, which,
with the new coab of paint, calcimine,
etc makes it compare very favorably
with the halls in other towns.
C. 0. Brown has resigned his posi
tion an agent and telegraph operator
here and wag relieved from his duties
Friday. Mr. Brown has not fully de
cided where he will locate yet. We
axe sorry to have him leave.

subsequent removal of his fumily
thither, if the situation be a suitable
one all round.
Rev. G. II. Carl, of Wellington,
wus the guest of Mr. und Mrs. Gardner
a couple of days last week.
Mrs. Celia McEwing from near Fos-
toria, 0. accompanied by her son
anu daughter has spent some time
at the old homestead, visiting her
mother, sisters and brothers.
Mr. and Mrs. Hollibaugh, having
both recovered from their long and
severe illness, have returned to their
Sp-ncer home, taking the new baby
with them.
W. J. Krebs and wife, W. Hart and
lady, Mr. and Mrs. Bartholomew, and
others whose names we failed to learn,
spent several days pleasuring at Shad
duck's grove.
Rev. and Mrs. Long, accompanied
by their two boys, spent a few days of
their vacation at Lakeside. It is to be
hoped they enjoyed their outing as
even one Sunday's respite from his
own pulpit must be a relief to a min
ister. Such a change must surely
fresln n up their ideas and stimulate
the lagging energies to new power.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Munson and fam
ily from Indianopolis, Ind., also R. A.
Taylor, of-Elyria, visited Mr. and Mrs.
H. D. Taylor, last week.
Master Fred and little Ruth Thorpe
are spending some time with their
grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel
Starr while their parants are taking a
trip up the lakes, stopping off at Mack-
mac and other pointg of interest.
Mr. and Mrs. Asa Nichols and baby,
of Elyria, Robert Denham, wife and
baby, and Irene and Ethel Stephensou,
of Cleveland are visiting Mr. and Mrs.
T. Denham.
The Denham and Dalgleish reunion
was held at the home of Peter Dal
gleish, Spencer, 0. on the 17 inst.
Between 60 and 70 were present, and
all enjoyed a royal visit in old time
style. A fine dinner was served, after
which the members wvre called to or
der by Peter Dalgleish, and a short
business meeting was held, and the
following officers appointed: Robert

Asa Nichols. Elyria, secretary; James

K. Wolf's on Wednesday night last,
and the young people netted upward
of $10, over $8 above expense.
Ross Falconer is removing a barn
for W. W. Penfleld. Mr. Penfleld
means to have everything around him
handy and comodious. Mr. Falconer
ill also move a small house for Dan-
el Auble. this week, which will be
promptly occupied by John'Lamphear
and wife.

SULLIVAN.
The ladies' aid society met with Mrs.
J. C. Palmer last W'ediesday. About
70 were present and too ; dinner, v hich
was served under a large tent erected
south of the Iioubo by Mr. T. D. Park
and Mr. J. C. Palmer. A table was
placed in the tent which seated 60
persons. Another table had to be pre
prepared for the crowd was so gfeat
they could not all dine at once, as was
the intentions. Members from three
ladies aid societies were present. The
day was a beautiful one and the people
had a most dei.ghtful time. Mrs.
Bertha GrisBi'nger assisted Mrs. Pal
mer in preparing for the society.
The ladies' aid society of Congrega
tional church met with Mrs. Sarah
French last Thursday.
Mrs. Carolines Riggs has returned
home from her Michigan trip much
improved in health.
Quite a number of our citizens at
tended the republican convention at
Ashland last Saturday.
William Harvnot has returned from
his summer outing at Lake Chautau
qua with his sister, Mrs. Ella Cooper
and family.
The schools of Sullivan will have
their annual picnic in M. B. Farmley'i
grove, Wednesday, August 23.
We have a photograph gallery in
town. They do quite good work, and
have had a great deal of work to do
since coming here. Some of their
good work is in taking pictures of
homes and home scenery which is fine.
The section boss, Sam Bracker, and
his force of men had their pictures
taken.
Mr. Williams, from Wellington, was
In town last week selling a map of the
Buckeye state. It is a fine map and
sold readily.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Otlineer are
here visiting friends and relatives.
George Laughery has his new house
on the Polk road enclosed and ready
for tire roof.
The dust is so deep it does not get-
tie in Sullivan any more. The people
have to bite the dust, whether they
will or no.
