The Democratic, caucus held here Saturday at 2 p. m. was called to or der by Lewis Beilhartz and by mo tion David Leist was appointed chair man and James Anderson secretary. Whereupon the following ticket was nominated: Justice of Peace, David Leist; Trustee, Jonas Deible; Clerk, J. N. Shaw; Assessors, Liberty East, Tilgman Miller; Liberty West, Peter Schale; Road Supervisor, District East, Chas. Wright; West, Stand. Huffman; Township Committeeman, James Anderson, East; F. Steward, West. On motion convention ad journed. " John Weaver moved on his new farm yesterday in Wasington Twp. We will miss Mr. Weaver as he has been quite an old settler-of Liberty Twp. Born, to Chas. Bowers and wife, a girl. Elmer Hendricks closed a success ful term of school in Dist. No. 5 and was rehired to teach the spring term commencing Monday, April Oth. Hiram Ellarton has sold his farm to John Fahnnger and bought .a home in Paulding Co, where he In intends to move as soon as the roads are good. Wm. Ellarton had the misfortune of having some sheep killed by dogs last week. The revival meeting held by Rev Corkle at the Olive Chapel came to a close last week with quite a number of converts. Frank Damn has closed his winter term of school in Dist. No. 9. Not to the satisfaction of himself only, but to the whole district. Henry Schall is making regular trips to Washington Twp. Subscriber. Liberty Ckjjteb, March 24th. Our Town hall will soon be finished. It is admirable to all. There are three tickets in the field for the spring election in Liberty township. Our Dist. schools have all close the witer terms with success. W. H. Dieble closed his school in Dist. No. 1, on March 17 with an en joyable entertainment. Mrs. Irvin is still quite sick. Oil Randolph spent Sunday with friends at Defiance. The M. E. Sunday school is practic ing for Easter exercises. John Lowmaster and little son Clif ford visited friends in Holgate last week. Mrs. Joe Wickshidler visited Lewis Overly and family in Grand Rapids Wednesday. Jonas Olnon was in West Hope Sunday. Mr. Abner Meech returned from Toledo Saturday, after a weeks stay with her mother. Died, at McClure, March 18th, Mrs. Luella Town(.and nee Carlisle, aged 28 years. She suffered unspeakable agony in her last hours, but when death came, which brought her Sweet relief, she was glad to depart from this world, as her last, long to be re membered words were: "1 m going home." She was a member of the U B. Church at this place and loved by all who knew her. She leaves a hu s band, two little daughters and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and loving mother. The funeral took place at the TJ. PER 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. Myres, after which her remains were peacefully laid to rest, beside her little daughter, in Hockinan ceme tery. James Wilcox died at his home here Men, 14tb, after an illness of two months. Funeral took place at the U. B. church Tuesday at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Myers. He was aged 73 years, 11 months, and 7 days. Remains were interred in Hockinan cemetery. DAISY. UIDGEYI LLE COBS EJKS. RlDG KVILLK COB., Mar. 23d. A Republican caucus was held last Friday evening at their headquarters and a full ticket put in nom nation for the coming election. Owing to the split off of the Populist element from the Democratic ranks, the afore said ticket will stand a good chance of being elected. E. E. Tressler has just lost a gocd cow, the only one he had. The new flour exchange at this point is doing an excellent business. Our cemetery trustees have found it necessary to notify the public that no horses can be hitched to the fence inclosing it. The meeting at the Cong, church, under the direction of Rev. T. C. Hodgin, is still in progress. He has been laboring with large energy, but has had no visible results. Jno. Kellar has the lumber and timber all sawed and on the premises for a large barn, which he intends to erect this season. August Mehring has just completed a fine revolving blackboard for the M. E. Sunday School. Inasmuch as the labor of constructing it was whol ly gratuitous, the members of the school feel under great obligation to him. Vkritas TUBUS VILLE. Carnalian are in Cleveland and have had a conference with the citizens' com mittee and local Pythiaus. The result, is that all the necessary expenses antl camp having been provided for, the Ohio brigade will hold ail encampment in the fourth week in August, lSUll, and has issued a general invitation to all the brigades of the military branch of the Knights of Pythias throughout the supreme jurisdiction to join with it in a general encampment. Died From Effects of an Operation. Columbus, O., March W. Dr. Her man Hirschbergor, a prominent young Hebrew physician, died from the effects of an operation for appendicitis. The deceased gained wide notoriety a few years ago by killing J. M. Miesey, a butcher, in a quarrel over a medical bill. He was acquitted of the crime. Caaliieo. Right Arrested.
