Telegrams of congratulation on ids nomination and for his action In sending tho tole gram which was read beforo tho 3t. Louis convention aro being recolved by Judge Parker at his homo here. Tho telegrams Is regard to his St. Louis convention telegram relatlvo to his position on tho platform are com mendatory. Following aro some of the telegrams received today: Chairman of the Now York Demo cratic state committee, Cordmoyer, lrom St. Louis, telegraphed: "After receipts of your message to Shcehan and final notion of tho convention, I hasten to congratulate heartily on your nomination. He en tertained John D, McDonald, of Now York and Judgo Edward W. Hatch on his piazza until they left for the yacht on which Mr. McDonald arrived In the early evening. Judge Parker has not yet received the telegram sent him by tbp St. Louis convention In answer to his, own tele gram. Tho judgo sent hij telegram from the Esopus telegraph ofllcc. The contents startled the receiving opera tor In New York who reported it to tho superintendent of the company. Tho latter in turn called up the Eso pus opeiator to see whethnr Judgo Patker had sent the telegram himself. On tho opetator replying tiiat it had been brought to the ofllce by "Jake" Robinson, tho judge's coachman, lie was told to call up Judgo Parker on tho telephone and verify the message. After some difficulty Judge Parker was secured at one end of tho tele phone and the message repeated to hlni by the Esopus operator. On his as surance that it was "0. K" tho Eso pus operator notified the New York office and the message proceeded on its way to St. Louis. This evening Judgo Parker sent the following message to Mr. Davis, who has been named as his running mate: "Esopus, N. Y., July 10. Hon. Henry G. Davis, Elklns, W. V.: "I congratulate both yon and the party upon your nomination for the otneo of vice president. "ALTON B. PARKER." Death of William Fllllngham. William Fllllngham, aged 53 years, died at his lesldenco, 1000 East Ninth street, Sunday morning of con sumption. Mr. Fllllngham was born In Holland but for many years has been a resident of this country. De ceased was employed as a timer. Ho Is survived by his wifo and several children . Special to Morning News. Fostoria, July 10. Charles Cook was fatally shot Saturday night by Ed. Roso on account of Jealousy. Tho men were farm hands and worked across thn road from each othor. Cook went to tho homo of Mrs. Farrel, where Roso works, on an errand. As ho returned Roso stopped from tho barn saying, "Damn you; 111 kill you," and began shooting. Tho men clinch ed after Cook had been shot twice and the third shot was then fired. While struggling Cook was struck by Mary Rlnebold, of whom Roso was jealous.
